I have decided to use my time wisely – to do things that will not only keep my occupied and give me something to do with my girls, but also make me a more interesting and all-around better person. Nobody has really been that impressed with my plan to complete a marathon of my favorite TV shows, so I’m on to bigger and better things.

One thing is to watch old movies – classics that I have always heard about but never watched. So far I have seen “Cool Hand Luke,” “Citizen Kane,” and “The Good Earth.” I have borrowed “Casablanca” from the Library but haven’t watched it yet. I’m starting to think that we have lost something in the movies that are being made now, but I don’t have time or money to go see most of them so I don’t know for sure. If anyone has ideas of movies not to miss, let me know.

The other thing is gardening. I don’t care about flowers and junk like that. I want to grow vegetables. The only problem is that the book I got at the Library is really complicated. I am starting to think that I may already be behind, and the idea of starting a compost pile really turns me off. I may just throw some stuff out there and see what happens. I’ve done a garden twice before, once with success and once without. The hardest part is deciding where to put it based on the sun, etc. If there is anybody who has some good information or good websites I’d appreciate any help I can get.

In the future I plan to take up roasting my own coffee beans. The only thing that keeps me from doing it now is that it takes special equipment. I’ll keep you posted on that one, and soon maybe you can come over for a cup of freshly roasted, ground and brewed coffee. I wonder if I can plant an orchard of coffee trees, and then I’d never have to leave my house. It’s good to have goals.
